Adopt a Cottage
‘Adopt a Cottage’ is a long time tradition that we have had with the United Methodist Church and the commitment made is spiritual not necessarily financial. Simply put, ‘Adopt a Cottage’ is a prayer club. We have seen over and over again how God has worked wonders in response to specific prayers!
Just like your home, our "homes" or cottages, have special needs. Every week the residents put together prayer requests for our ‘Adopt a Cottage’ churches. These requests are emailed and sometime over the two weeks following, the church group will get together and pray for each request.
Church groups may also come out and do a project with the residents or plan a work day on campus. These ‘Adopt a Cottage’ churches may also write a note of encouragement to a resident or send a birthday card. There are many different ways a church may help bring “Help for Today and Hope for Tomorrow” to the children we serve. Consider becoming an 'Adopt a Cottage' this year and watch prayer change the life of a young person.

Here's how it works!
We will send you a list of prayer concerns (every week) specifically aimed at the cottage you choose to adopt. This list will include the child's first name and his/her specific prayer concern. Here are some examples of what to expect from the prayer requests:
“I ask for prayers that I will have a home to go to when I leave Bashor.”
Logan, 10 years old, Bashor resident
“Please pray for my mom to control her anger.”
Lindsey, 13 years old, Bashor resident
“Pray for my little brother, Andy.”
Keisha, 12 years old, Bashor resident
